Speaking is a skill: just like writing, driving, negotiating, accounting etc. Yet there are many people that don't accept criticism about their speaking mannerisms and abilities. Of course we DO KNOW there are a minority of people who are nasty on the internet (trolls). However, saying "This is my brand; my style" isn't helpful if your vocal style and mannerisms are preventing you from being successful.
